MODS Atrium

The Museum’s Grand Atrium is home to The Great Gravity Clock! Standing fifty-two feet tall, this incredible piece of science and art is the biggest kinetic energy sculpture in Florida. Since 1993, this unique timepiece is one of the only three that exist in the world. The Grand Atrium has benches and tables for people to gather, eat and enjoy this amazing timepiece! From 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, guests of all ages can attend the Regional Resilience Showcase where the winner of the Build a Better World Challenge will be announced.

Museum of Discovery and Science

The Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS) encompasses more than 150,000 square feet of interactive exhibits. This includes all of our permanent and traveling exhibits, as well as an outdoor Science Park. From 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, guests of all ages can attend the Regional Resilience Showcase in the MODS Atrium, Science on Screen in the AutoNation® IMAX® 3D Theater and other STEMtastic activities across two floors.

MODS AutoNation IMAX Theater

The AutoNation® IMAX® Theater has a six-story-high screen that is large enough to show a life-sized whale. And bigger is only the beginning. No other IMAX in south Florida even comes close in sound or resolution. Seeing a film in the Theater is an unparalleled superior viewing experience. From 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, guests of all ages can attend Science on Screen® to experience breathtaking documentaries, hosted by renowned guest speakers.

MODS Keller Science Theater

Located in the Museum's To Fly exhibit, the Keller Science Theater is a 100-person hall that's great for presentations, lectures, demonstrations and live shows. From 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, guests of all ages can attend the Science Café where leading scientists and university researchers will showcase their work to protect our critical habitats. Presentations will consist of a 30-minute discussion on the preferred topic where guests can interact with the speaker and ask questions to keep the conversation going.

MODS Makerspace

The Hangar is a hands-on idea hub allowing guests to learn the methods behind the madness of making and launching Makerspace inventions! Guest can participate in the “Build the Change” Prototyping Lab featuring LEGO® Bricks. From 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, guests of all ages will be able to prototype a sustainable building, a haven for sea horses and coral reef restoration.

Science Under the Sun Block Party: From 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, guests will be able to participate in the Festival’s STEM demonstrations, booth activities, presentations, food, music and fun! Attend an Ultimate Kaboom show; awe-inspiring, live, interactive, states of matter show with exploding bubbles and balloons, thunder and lightning, and fireworks. Participate in a water quality testing demonstration with the MODS squad. Dine at one of south Florida’s finest food trucks. The park is located directly across from the Museum.
